Death Doulas – An Overview and Local Initiatives
Tuesday September 17, 2024
Death doulas are emerging as a potentially important new form of community-based caregiving. Also known as end-of-life doula, death midwife or end-of-life coach, death doulas are trained, non-medical professionals who work with healthcare providers to care for the dying and their loved ones. Their role is to help people make the choices they want for their death experience, and to do so with comfort and support. The presentation provides an overview of this growing field and highlight a local doula program.
